Southwestern Schools holds the safety and security of our students, staff, visitors, and community as a priority. As a result, steps have been taken to continually improve our ability to provide a safe and caring environment.
Included in these efforts are:
-
installation of a repeater for extended radio communications
-
monthly CPR/AED and first aid certification classes
-
10th grade health classes certified in CPR/AED.
-
access control system
-
four staff members certified and equipped as First Responders.
-
student and staff ID's
-
added internal and external cameras
As one can easily see, Southwestern has taken many steps toward providing an environment where your child can feel safe and secure. We will continue to make efforts in this area.
We do however realize that safety and security reaches far beyond the walls of the school building. It touches the lives of everyone in our community. It is for this reason that we have implemented the Ready-or-Not Website.
It is through this site that you, a member of our community, will be provided with up-to-date resources that will assist you and your family in planning and preparing for the emergencies which will affect you. Please survey this site and use those resources that you feel are of value to you and your family.
Please check back frequently as the contents of this site will change often.
