PLEASANTVILE SCHOOL DISTRICT
EMERGENCY CRISIS PLAN
Pleasantville School District has undertaken the task of developeing and implementing a comprehensive crisis plan to provide for the safety and security of both our students and faculty. We recognize the concern that parents and guardians are feeling about the well being of their children.
The Pleasantville School District has always worked diligently to maintain a safe and secure environment. We continue to work closely with our public safety officials at the local, county and state levels.
Emergency preparedness is a process that requires our continual review and adjustment. The district has approached this issue by providing what we feel are safe, logical steps to be considered when faced with a crisis situation. Our primary concern is to maintain the safest possible environment for your children.
Welcome to our Ready-or-Not Website
Being prepared for emergencies is not only a requirement of the State, but is also taken very seriously by all of us here in the school district. We also know how important preparedness is to every member of our greater community.
The Ready-or-Not site presents an enormous range of useful and timely information. We urge you, your family, and your friends to browse this site, and to especially take advantage of the Personal & Family Emergency Preparedness form that is available to you through the “Create Your Plan” link to the right.
As a parent, two of the most important things you can do are to make certain your child’s school has up-to-date emergency contact information, and to periodically review with your child alternative arrangements you have made in case an emergency prevents you from being at home.
We will continue to support our greater school community with programs and services like the Ready-or-Not plan, and we encourage you to also get involved. Let us know what you think too.
