The Ready-or-Not service launched in April 2006 and serves communities in Arizona, New Jersey, Louisiana and New York through the pilot program.

All Ready-or-Not disaster and emergency preparedness content is focused on fulfilling the mission of the service by Educating Communities One Family At A Time.

The Ready-or-Not service provides

More local and neighborhood self-reliance for disaster preparedness.
A simple way to make a wide range of already existing disaster preparedness and recovery information readily available to an entire community.
A way to help a community develop or enhance a disaster response protocol for that community.
A Simple use of technology to improve local disaster preparedness.
Schools provide excellent organizational units for disaster preparedness and response, especially in disaster response situations where the impending disaster is known.

The Ready-or-Not program usefulness increases when disasters are looming, as people will be looking for at-hand sources of information. This online Ready-Or-Not website service is ideally suited and designed for civic minded organizations with access to citizens in their community.

A Word About “Default” Links and Changing Them: Client-Administrators of the Ready-or-Not service are afforded on-demand opportunity to change any of the “default” links to Ready-or-Not resources. So for example, the Administrator of a Ready-or-Not site may elect to link users in their community to their local hospital for the First Aid Guide button instead of accepting our “default” link to MayoClinic.com.
